Manipuri Thukpa

Thukpa is a simple yet comforting meal that can be customized based on the ingredients at hand. It traditionally includes handmade noodles, vegetables, and protein like chicken or beef. The dish is typically spicy and is often served on cold days to warm the body. It is also a popular street food found in markets and restaurants throughout the Himalayan region.

Ingredients

1 cup noodles, cooked
1 tsp schezwan sauce
1 cup beans, sliced thinly
1 cup carrots, julliennes
4 cups chicken stock
1 tsp cracked pepper
Salt as required
8 chicken momos
1/4 cup California walnuts, chopped roughly

Method

1. Heat a wok and add the chicken stock.

2. Allow it to simmer adding salt and pepper.

3. Add momos, noodles, vegetables, and schezwan sauce and allow to simmer for 3 minutes.

4. Stir in walnuts and serve hot.
